Arizona's program has been in disarray for over a year. Is this the right move? Give us your thoughts.

    This is the best move for the program in the long run, Lute was set in his ways and wouldn't accept that the Pac-10 has changed. Howland, Flyod, Bennett, and Johnson had tranformed the wide open, run and gun Pac-10 into a hard nose defensive minded league and Lute has refused to follow leading to the programs steady decline.

      This is a good move in the long run. Lute is set in his ways and refuses to accept that the Pac-10 has changed. Howland, Bennett, Floyd, and Johnson had transformed the once wide open, run and gun Pac-10 into a hard nose defensive minded league. Olsen has never accepted the change and had caused his program to fall to the middle of the Pac.

        Rumor mill rages.  Regardless, any decision(remain or step down) needs to take into account the best interests of the Cats.  If Coach Olsen has the ability to coach and health won't be a factor, then he should do so.  However, if Coach Olsen plans to fade in and out of coaching due to medical or personal matters then he needs to turn the helm over to another qualified coach.  Personally, I would hate to see Coach Olsen leave the program.   Hang in there coach, but don't do so at the expense of the program.

          Lute has a tremendous record at UofA.  But, he has long been known for his short fuse.  Couple that with the rollercoaster his personal life has been over the past few years, and the reported health problems that he supposedly is having, and you have the makings of a disaster rivaling the sinking of the Titanic.  He needs to walk away so the program can rebuild.  Nobody wants to follow a legend, so look for the next few years to be down.

            Sometime when you're feeling important,
            Sometime when your ego's in bloom,
            Sometime when you take it for granted,
            You're the best qualified in the room.
            Sometime when you feel that your going,
            Would leave an unfillable hole,
            Just follow this simple instruction,
            And see how it humbles your soul.
            Take a bucket and fill it with water;
            Put your hand in it up to the wrist;
            Pull it out and the hole that's remaining,
            Is a measure of how you'll be missed.
            You may splash all you please when you enter;
            You can stir up the water galore;
            But stop, and you'll find in a minute,
            That it looks quite the same as before.
            The moral in this quaint example,
            Is do the best that you can.
            Be proud of yourself, but remember,
            There's no indispensable man!

                It's about time that old F A R T retired.

                When will these old geezers realize that they're has-beens!

                Go home Lute, you're yesterday's news!!!

                    Arizona, my Alma Mater, hail to thee who wear the red and blue! A new era is here for you to continue, where Lute brought you to. "Bear Down" you Wildcats and stay true to your proud tradition, no matter Olson's condition. Happy to win, disappointing to lose, keep wearing the red and the blue! See you in the "Big Dance" after we top the Pac 10 too!

                      I guess it’s no longer a rumor…Was looking forward to seeing Coach Olson on the floor again.  Hopefully the athletic department will find an outstanding replacement that can continue the Programs winning ways.  Best of wishes Lute Olson and thanks for all the memorable years.  I’m sure we’ll see Lute Olson alongside Dickie V at some point this season and definitely during the NCCA T.J
