Can the Blazers crack the top of the West? The Lakers, Hornets and Spurs all seem better.

Can the Blazers crack the top of the West? That's not the question, but the answer is no for this year. Make the playoffs, sure thing. First, maybe second round departure, but in a year or two, they will be winning their first of many NBA Championships since '76. The Lakers are more of a Psychiatric ward than an NBA team. Sure, Kobe is great, a great big head case coached by another head case. The Hornets are good, so we'll see. The Spurs are over! Soon, most of their players are going to need wheelchairs to get to the court. Portland's biggest "problem" is youth and athleticism! Brandon Roy is already an allstar and the rest of the starting five will soon be also. And the Blazer's bench alone can beat half the league. Joel and Greg are going to own the paint waiting to rebound the rare missed three pointer. The Rose Garden is already a tough place to win, just ask Boston (with Roy in street clothes) and it is going to get a lot tougher. ONLY THING LEFT TO DO IS HANG THE BANNERS AND POLISH THE TROPHIES!

The Lakers, Hornets, and Spurs all seem better? How, older, more injured, less athletic, more psycotic? The only "problem" the Blazers have is youth and athleticism. In a couple of years Kobe will be in a straight jacket, the Hornets will implode, and the Spurs will take the court in wheelchairs. The Blazer's bench can beat half the league alone today. Brandon Roy is already an allstar and soon so will be the rest of the starters. Joel and Greg own the paint to put back the rare three point miss. The Rose Garden is tough to win in, just ask Boston (with Roy in street clothes). HANG THE BANNERS AND POLISH THE TROPHIES!
